New Glasses!

I'm getting new glasses!!  I sleep in my contacts way way too much.  I now have a really red eye.  Yuck!  Since Sunday, I have been stuck wearing the glasses I have had for about 8 years.  Nothing wrong with them except I can't really see out of them.  The prescription hasn't been changed since I bought them.

I really meant to pick out frames months ago when I could see myself in the mirror because I had my contacts in.  Instead, I had to be 2" away from the mirror.  Thankfully, Chris went with me on Sunday to pick them out.  I let him narrow it down and then got as close to the mirror as I could without knocking all the glasses off the wall.  I chose the pair he picked out.  If they don't look good, it's all his fault! I couldn't see.

The guy from Wal-Mart called me last night to tell me my glasses were in.  I was a little surprised since they are expected in next Monday.  He only called requesting a rush due to medical necessity yesterday morning.  (Medical necessity = not being able to clearly read the license plate on the car in front of me)  I was getting ready to jump off the couch to go get my new glasses and the phone rings again.  The wrong tray was pulled.  Who's surprised?  Not me.  Hopefully, they will be in later this week.

Now for 4 other positive things from the last week:

1.  Sophia absolutely loves her daycare.  After the 4 other options we tried during the 1st 6 months of her life, this last 10 months at Noahs Ark II has been a blessing.  Chris & my mom kept her out of daycare 4 out of 5 days last week.  The day she did go, she was waving at everybody when she arrived.  That makes me so happy!!

2.  Sophia is learning so much every day.  She's interested and a little confused about water running out of a washcloth that she just lifted out of her bath water.  She "talks" constantly.  Not sure what she is saying most the time, but she is telling us something all the time.  Nana (my mom) put Sophia on the changing table the other day to change her diaper.  Sophia said poop.  And that is what Nana found in her diaper.  :)  Looks like it might be time to start introducing the potty seat since Sophia seems to know what is going on.

3.  Chris and I had a great time celebrating his cousin's birthday!  It was good to see a lot of the family.  I don't visit anyone as much as I should.  It was also wonderful to see that growing baby bump.  I really can't wait until Zane gets here.  All these babies this year are so exciting!  It does not make me want another one though.

4.  Mom being in town was good.  Stressful at times, but good.  We didn't really have time for our normal shopping trip or anything.  That was okay.  She will be back in a matter of weeks and Sophia really doesn't need anything right now.  I have so many outfits she wasn't big enough for last summer.  Now it's just a matter of seeing if they are too small now.  I seriously doubt it though.  She wore a 3/6 month outfit last week that fit perfect.

Day 2

I'm going to roll yesterday and today into on.  This may become the norm.

1.  I have the ability to take my time looking for a job.  I went for an interview yesterday at ATI.  It is a career training school.  Everything I read online was negative.  I was intereseted in working there, not training there.  I probably would have gotten the job in the scary area.  I can't work late evenings.  I like being able to see my baby girl every day.

2.  Almost two full drama free days at work.  It is currently changing.  I don't like hearing angry voices everyday.  It is not directed at me and I have a job.  That's a positive.

3.  I got in touch with somebody I went to high school with.  We had a very serious messaging session that helped her get a weight off her shoulders.  It was nothing that even involved me.  I just contacted her at the right time when I could help her.

4.  Mom is coming tomorrow.  Enough said on that one.

Maybe just four today.  This is hard right now.  I know if I push through, I can retrain my brain to be more positive.  I can do this.  I just thought of #5!

5.  I have plans to get together with one of my closest friends Friday night.  Not sure what we are doing yet.  I'm sure it will involve food, wine and lots of conversation.  I can't wait!!

Getting Started

It seems like everybody is writing a blog these days.  It makes me want to give it a try.  Maybe this will be one of those things I start but don't finish.  There seems to be a lot of those.  I need some sort of creative outlet.  Why not give it a try.  But what do I write about?  I googled things to write a blog about.  Nothing jumped out at me.  What did jump out at me was something I had read on another blog.  5 positive things about the week.

I am going to try to list 5 positive things about the day.  It may turn into the week.  With looking for a job while working part time with frustrating coworkers and my 15 month old hitting the terrible two's,  I could use a push to see the positives.  So here we go starting with the last week!

1. My silly little girl keeping me entertained during the snow day.  She loves her mittens!

2. The every growing extendend family.  Welcome Hunter Anthony Staton!

3. My Valentines gift a week early.  Cirque du Soleil was amazing.  Ovo!

4. A job interview.  I just found out I didn't get it, but it got things started.  There will be more.

5. The freedom and ability to put my thoughts out there to the universe.
